WELCOME TO YOUR ADVANCED SCA COURSE PRIMER!
Welcome to your Advanced SCA Course Primer!
The theory instruction you will study in this course and the practical skills that you will encounter are all essential for the coffee learner to master prior to seeking advanced certification with the Specialty Coffee Association. As of today, all SCA Intermediate and Professional certifications must be issued in person by an Authorized Trainer. However, this course will provide everything you need to prepare for your final exams.
This primer is produced with the intended workflow:
- Study and master the material on your own time with coaching calls, dialogue, etc. PRIOR to attending your Practical Exam event.
- Attend an in-person practical exam to demonstrate your skills at this level. *note.
- Pass your online SCA theory exam issued AFTER your in-personal practical exam is completed to standard.
NOTE
* All knowledge from prior courses will be assumed as held. This means you may feel as if some theories and skills have jumped to a whole new level or gone to a whole deeper topic. That is to be expected. I encourage you to go back and review earlier courses in case something was missed. You may also add your comments and questions at the end of each lecture to encourage discussion and comprehension, which helps me to bring clarity to the complex and nuanced topics. If you desire to purchase earlier course content or complete a bundle of courses for your personal library feel free to contact our team and we’ll see how we can help you fill in these gaps.
Thank you for joining this SCA Course Primer.
